Well, half right. No time travel, but it is a DeLorean.
The Brothers Bloom is the first movie I have given 5-stars to in almost a year. It is not perfect. At the 75% mark it almost falls into the the-audience-doesn't-trust-anyone trap that many gotcha-movies fall into, but it still earns a place on the elite group consisting of only 5% of the movies I rate on Netflix. Interestingly, Rian Johnson also wrote Brick, which earned 5-stars from me on the strength of its clever and crisp dialog. As soon as I realized this, I checked a list of his other works, and unfortunately, in the last decade he has only written these two movies. Even more disappointingly, Rian Johnson edited a movie (May) that I gave only 1-star to.
...except for the creepy grim reaper in the reflection on the left.
I'm not a consumer of their product, but I have long been an admirer of ABSOLUT VODKA's Internet marketing campaigns. This is probably their most ambitious project, yet. "I'm Here" ( http://www.imheremovie.com/ ) is well worth seeing.
Took a day off, to get some rest. But watching a movie about people defusing bombs in Iraq makes me really happy to have my job. :)
